We are all getting older and it is a sad fact of life that at some stage, usually when we reach our thirties and forties, that we will feel its just not fair, as in our minds we still feel in our twenties but our bodies are telling us otherwise. So what do we do? Cosmetic surgery? Botox?, I dare say they have their place, however, there may be a cheaper and less painful alternative.

 

As we women age this is reflected in our body image with the appearance of wrinkles on the face and neck particularly. Body parts such as one's bottom and boobs begin to head south and look decidedly saggy especially after child birth. There is also, very often, bulging in one's mid-drift area, this when we start to cover up and begin to look and feel old and frumpy. This need not be the case.

 

It may be that addressing your dress sense and wardrobe may be a viable option to attaining a more youthful look without needing to head for the plastic surgeon. Now I don't mean becoming a dedicated follower of fashion and start filling your body with piercing's or looking like mutton dressed as lamb. We need to look younger but you still need to look like you.

 

To start with you must recognize what body type you are, you may be top heavy or bottom heavy. Armed with this information you can start shopping for your new younger look. Do not be tempted to resurrect your teenage wardrobe, this just will not work.

 

Remember when you looked so good in those figure hugging jeans when you were in your teens? Well wearing jeans could still be the answer to a youthful look, however, you must choose carefully. Ill fitting jeans can amplify those lumps and bumps that you are trying, so desperately, to hide. If you are bulging around your middle then try jeans that will compliment your figure. A bootleg cut will have the effect of balancing the overall look of your body so you don't appear dumpy. Accompany your stylish jeans with a nice flowing top, job done you are looking terrific.

 

When "dressing young" be aware of your choice of colors. A lighter color choice is great for a more youthful appearance. You can still wear your dark jackets and suits to the office, however, choose a light or pastel shade, maybe frilly but not too frilly, top. At work you want to be taken seriously and still want to keep an air of sophistication that comes with age but with a younger accent.
