Although the flower girl's dress need not be a replica of the bridal gown it needs to follow a similar design color theme. For example, if the bridal gown is decorated with lace and beads then the flower girl's dress should follow this design also.

 There is no reason why the flower girl's dress should not be colorful should this complement the ceremony colors. The colors should follow a theme or key color that reflects colors used in the bridal gown and the bridesmaid's dresses. If your color theme is white and pink, for example, your flower girl may be dressed in a white and pink dress with her flower basket containing white and pink petals.

 

Make Sure She Is Happy Too:

 Don't forget to make sure your flower girl is happy and comfortable with what you are asking her to wear, after all it will be her special day too and you want her to be smiling as she glides down the aisle proudly scattering her petals. Her dress should be designed with her needs, stature, personality and age in mind.
